Nursery Sales Associate

What we are looking for

Lacoste Garden Centre's growing nursery is looking for full, part time and seasonal sales associates! We need an outgoing individual who enjoys working with customers. Someone who can retain and learn product knowledge quickly on a wide breadth of trees, shrubs, and garden care needs. An individual who is self-motivated and capable of working effective independently and thrive in a team atmosphere. Previous plant knowledge an asset but not essential.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Experience working independently
• Strong communication skills; written and verbal
• Engaging and outgoing personality
• Passionate about customer experience
• Can remain effective during fast paced periods as well as quiet periods
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend and carry for long periods of time and be able to handle the physical parameters including in working outdoors in all elements

Job Summary

The nursery associate will assist our customers with product selection, plant care, and maintenance. Providing our customers with knowledge of the products that they are purchasing. You will be building trust and connection with clients. They will also maintain the nursery appearance so that we can provide a clean, welcoming and inspiring shopping experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Guide and give advice to customers on product selection
• Assist shoppers in choosing the right plants for their yard
• Provide quality care in the watering and maintenance of trees and shrubs
• Receiving and unloading of plant material
• Keeping the nursery clean and tidy. Includes sweeping, use of leaf blower and merchandising
• Support, care, and maintenance to other departments
